Global Warming and its Effects
The recent news of Iceland-volcano is in the knowledge of everyone. The news not only brought the whole world to a grinding halt, but also was the reminder of Global Warming. When the average tempeature of the Earth increases, it results in Global Warming. When the temperature of the Earth gets hot, natural disasters happens to take place, such as earthquakes, floods and hurricanes. During the 20th century, the Earth's surface and the lower part of the atmosphere have warmed up by an average of 0.6 centigrade. We are now experiencing one of the hottest summers and it is due to Global Warming. The scenario of climate is changing year by year. The summers are hotter and longer and the winters are more freezing and cooler. Let us consider what has caused this change in climate and the effects of Global Warming on human beings:
1. The most hazardous effect is of 'polar ice caps melting' which cause floods.
2. Spread of unbearable intense heat waves. Poisonous ivy vines growing denser.
3. Spread of diseases like, allergies and asthma.
4. Waters become warmer and probability of more frequent and stronger hurricanes.
5. Though some areas of earth get wetter, other areas suffer serious droughts and heat waves.
Greenhouse is a substantial factor in 'Global Warming'. Greenhouse effect happens when light and heat from the sun is trapped in the atmosphere and the temperature rises. It seems that the situation is quite alarming and the deadly threat for human life - Global Warming is in front of us. Greenhouse gases emissions that are man made like Carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane have increased because of deforestation and burning fossil fuels for transportation and energy uses. At some point, greenhouse effect makes the Earth a right place to live for humans, animals and plants. Without it the Earth would be either hot or freezing, but excessive greenhouse gas emissions certainly harm us. If the climate gets extremely hot or cool because of Global Warming, crops will not grow, animals will no longer live and as a result human existence will abolish.
We are continuously bombarded with the threatening news about Global Warming. Recently, natural disasters like, hurricanes are frequently increasing, the ice caps of the Greenland and Antarctic are melting and thus raising the sea level, droughts are imminent, poisonous ivy vines growing denser due to Global Warming and most astonishing is that, people are dying due to over heat. The main reason is humans are polluting the atmosphere with carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels and the destruction of tropical forests. It is pertinent to state here that, the North Atlantic pole ward heat transport has already decreased 30%. Some scientists believe that, so far, global warming has been slight. They believe that, yet, doomsayers haven’t proven their case for the expected increase of temperature for a doubling of carbon dioxide, and that increased carbon dioxide might have a net beneficial effect.
So far, there is no scientific evidence to convince that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the future, cause catastrophic heat on the earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the earth’s climate. Though, there is substantial scientific evidence that the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere may produce beneficial effects upon the animal environments of the earth and natural plant. News indicates that many people have become familiar with this world wide issue and have become convinced that global warming is a serious problem. Now, the question here arises that, “What are the endeavours to take?” Let's have a look below.
Endeavours to take:
It is pivotal to mention here that, during December 2009 in Denmark, at the international level, the "Copenhagen Summit" has already taken place and it was specifically for the single issue of "Climate Change." This simply means that, Global Warming is on the threshold of the entire world. In conclusion, I would suggest our judicious policy makers - i.e., bureaucrats and disaster planning managers better consider about the issue of Global Warming. They should come together, chalk out suitable plans, seek governments' approvals and ensure hundred percent implementation thereof, well in time. Only then Global Warming can avert to some extent. No doubt, citizens of the country would whole-heartedly contribute, support and participate in Government Programmes and will certainly make them a success. So, folks, in order to safeguard our interest, now is the dire need to come together, have intense talks about Global Warming. Think 'globally' thereon and join each other's hands in solving this world wide global issue by adopting small changes in our day to day living.

Global warming scares me. Thanks for an interesting article.
Surabhi, i am looking for a companion to start a new blog to aware people againat global warming and importance of protecting the nature. Are you interested? If so, kindly inform me.
the worst part of global warming movies is that you cant say its just a movie.
This hub echoes the most popular sentiments. It is ruled by passion.
Passion is a good thing.
... but NOW I have to suggest that here passion is overpowering reason in a bad way, because when a truly open mind looks at all the information, a shocking realization takes hold -- HUMAN CAUSED GLOBAL WARMING IS AN URBAN LEGEND, A MYTH, A POLITICAL IDEA BASED ON PSEUDOSCIENCE AND, PERHAPS, EVEN A FRAUD.

This is the biggest problem that we are facing today... we need to assess, do we really need the rapid industrialization and that too, to an extent of neglecting and damaging the environment... the policy makers has to think about it before they go for signing any orders that is indirectly or directly effecting the environment.
This is really a very good hub... thanks for sharing.
